On 20th April 2004 I was lucky enough to turn up at Euston just before a locomotive naming ceremony upon platform 18. 87010 was named 'Driver Tommy Farr' by the unsuspecting Driver who had been told to get in a taxi to pick a loco up from Euston.
Alas a new lick of paint wasn't given all over to 87010. It received a quick application of cab yellow (masking tape was still on in places). Fresh Virgin vinyls had been apllied but NOT a new coat of Virgin red. Any modellers should note the gold painted buffers on this loco, but only on the front face. The rear of the buffers are as standard.

The driver was presented with the power/brake handle desk from 87016 (I believe)
